SWINDON are still searching for their first win of the season after going down to a 48-42 defeat against King’s Lynn at the Abbey.

It was heartbreak for the Robins who looked to be heading to victory as they held a 33-27 advantage after heat 10, but the Norfolk side finished strongly to then take a four-point lead into the last race.

In the decider the impressive Kenneth Bjerre shot from the start to beat Scott Nicholls and former Blunsdon favourite held off Simon Stead for third place. The ensuing 4-2 was more than enough to earn the Stars the Elite League points.

Their was some good individual performances on the Swindon side with Nicholls carding 12+1 and Josh Grajczonek was again in the points with a creditable 10+1 from the reserve berth. Maciej Janowski also chipped in with 9, which included two race wins.

But King’s Lynn were solid throughout with Bjerre 13 and Korneliussen 12 being the pick of the bunch.
