RAMPANT Robins continued the sensational start to their Elite League title defence with a 47-43 win at Lakeside on Friday.

The win sets them up nicely for the visit of bitter rivals Peterborough on Monday when admission prices are reduced in a bid to pack the Abbey Stadium for the first Sky Sports visit of the season.

Danish duo Peter Kildemand (11+1) and Hans Andersen ( 10+1) topped the Excalibur Comminications Robins scorechart and guest Steve Worrall performed well.

Swindon co-owner Gary Patchett said: "We are delighted. Alun (Rossiter) and the boys did a fabulous job and they deserve great credit.

"Every time we looked at the programme and thought we might be up against it the boys put in a brilliant ride.

"There is a long way to go, it's still very early in the season, but we have made a good start. I don't think Rosco or myself could have wished for anything more.

"Lakeside is a tough place to go, they're very good on their own track, so we are very pleased. Now we need to keep it going against Peterborough on Monday when I hope the fans will turn out in force to reflect the great work the riders are doing."

LAKESIDE: Peter Karlsson 11+1, Piotr Swiderski 7+1, Davey Watt 7, Kim Nilsson 6+1, Lewis Bridger 6, Robert Mear 4+2, Richard Lawson 2.

SWINDON: Peter Kildemand 11+2, Hans Andersen 10+1, Edward Kennett 10, Troy Batchelor 9, Kacper Gomolski 4, Steve Worrall 3+1 Nick Morris R/R.
