SWINDON were back to their brilliant best as they stormed to a 39-51 away victory over fellow play-off contenders King's Lynn at the Norfolk Arena.

After suffering four consecutive defeats on the road, the Excalibur Robins bounced back in style to take all four points and jump to third place in the Elite League table.

And team boss Alun Rossiter was thrilled to see his side take the spoils in an entertaining clash.

He said: "It was really important for us to get the win tonight, because we were drifting out the play-off picture a little bit.

"This result puts us right back in there; they are four big points and we just need to build on that now.

"Troy was really up for it, the reserves did their job and Nick Morris also did a great job riding in what is a tough No.2 position."

In the absence of No.1 Hans Andersen, Aussie ace Troy Batchelor returned to haunt his former club with a dominant 14 point haul.

He received excellent support from Peter Kildemand who recovered from a heat seven fall to bag paid double figures following some exhilarating overtaking.

Guesting No.1 Chris Harris and Edward Kennett both put in solid performances - the latter recording two race wins after a nasty crash in his opening ride - whilst Nick Morris made a pivotal contribution at No.2.

Down at reserve, Ashley Birks enjoyed one of his finest displays in Swindon colours to bolster the lower order as the Robins accounted for ten race winners with a powerhouse display.

King's Lynn 39: Niels-Kristian Iversen 10, Sebastian Alden 8+1, Rory Schlein 7, Richie Worrall 6+2, Andzejs Lebedevs 5, Nicklas Porsing 3+1, Simon Stead R/R

Swindon 51: Troy Batchelor 14, Peter Kildemand 8+1, Ashley Birks 8, Nick Morris 7+2, Chris Harris 6+2, Edward Kennett 6, Cory Gathercole 2
