SWINDON extended their unbeaten run to six successive meetings with a 45-45 draw against King’s Lynn at the Adrian Flux Arena.

Just a week after defeating the Stars on home shale, the M&S Van Rental Robins regained their place at the top of the Elite League table despite narrowly missing out on another victory.

Alun Rossiter’s side looked set to edge victory in what was a tense encounter, but they were denied in dramatic circumstances as King’s Lynn struck a 5-1 in the final race.

Co-promoter Colin Pratt admitted they were frustrated to miss out on victory at the death – yet he was nonetheless pleased to come away from a breathtaking meeting with two valuable Elite League points and their unbeaten record still intact.

“It was disappointing to miss out in heat 15,” Pratt said. “It was a close meeting all the way through, but we kept our nose in front over the second half of the meeting and it was a shame we couldn’t get over the line in the final race.

“It was a fantastic ride by Robert Lambert, and although we missed out on three points we still gained two which overall is a good result.”

It was another strong all-around team display from the Abbey outfit, with a number of solid showings from all areas of the side.

Nick Morris, Justin Sedgmen, Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright all tasted race wins, whilst Stefan Nielsen partnered Sedgmen to a 5-1 in heat two.

Heat-leader Josh Grajczonek also scored in every ride with a determined display in the No.5 spot as they fought with a home side led by the impeccable Niels-Kristian Iversen.

After keeping their unbeaten run going, the Robins will aim to continue their excellent form as they take on Poole in a mouth-watering clash at the Abbey on Monday (4pm).

KING’S LYNN 45: Niels-Kristian Iversen 15, Robert Lambert 10+1, Lewis Rose 7, Mads Korneliussen 5, Troy Batchelor 5, Carl Wilkinson 2+1, Kai Huckenbeck 1.

SWINDON 45: Jason Doyle 9+1, Justin Sedgmen 8+1, Nick Morris 8, Charles Wright 6+1, Josh Grajczonek 6, Rohan Tungate 5, Stefan Nielsen 3+1.
