ROBINS boss Alun Rossiter admitted it was a “bad day at the office” as his side were swept aside at Belle Vue.

The Wiltshire outfit lost 55-35 in Manchester as the Aces clicked into top form leaving the visitors in their wake.

Robins kept it tight after six races, trailing by just four points, but then Belle Vue hit top gear with a succession of heat advantages.

Rossiter admitted: “It was a bad day at the office. It’s a very tough place to come and I think they produced their best performance of the season.

“We had too many guys just out of sorts, you have those nights. We’ll just forget it and move onto the next one.

“I don’t need to go round shouting and screaming. I know the press want me to say I’m going to have a go at riders or get rid of someone.

“I don’t need to do that. We have a good team and this is just a blip. We do need to pick up more points away from home, we all know that.

“It was excellent racing all night but we just got caught out on some of the first turns and they are good round this track.

“But I’m sure we’ll get a reaction from the boys. I don’t need to tell them that. They are all self-motivated individuals and they’ll bounce back.”

Troy Batchelor was excellent for the Robins with three outstanding wins for 11 points while David Bellego weighed in with a classy 10.

BELLE VUE 55: Max Fricke 13+1, Dan Bewley 10, Damian Drozdz 9+2, Rohan Tunage 9+2, Jye Etheridge 7+1, Craig Cook 7.

SWINDON 35: Troy Batchelor 11, David Bellego 10, Adam Ellis 6, Zach Wajtknetcht 4, Tobiasz Musielak 3, Nick Morris 1+1, Jack Smith 0.
