SWINDON Robins are facing make-or-break time in both the league and cup!

CFS Filtration Robins bosses have confirmed they will race King’s Lynn in their Knockout Cup Semi-Final home leg on Monday September 10.

And that means two crunch clashes in the space of five days at the Abbey which could extend their season – or end it!

They face Belle Vue on Thursday in their final regular league outing of the season with an outside chance of a play-off spot – depending on Belle Vue’s home clash with Somerset on Wednesday night.

Club Chairman Terry Russell said: “I wanted to stage the cup tie the following Thursday, September 13, but for one reason or another we have been told it’s not possible.

“So we are now hosting King’s Lynn next Monday and that means two massive meetings which will determine our season.

“Obviously we are hoping we still have a chance of a play-off place on Thursday, if not we will wrap up our league campaign then.

“Then we have to face King’s Lynn and hope we get a good result ton take to their place when we get a date for that.

“In would urge the Swindon public to get right behind the team. We don’t want our season to end, but if we don’t do the business then next Monday will be the last Speedway at the Abbey this season.

“I know it’s not ideal, I’m not happy about not racing the following Thursday but that’s Speedway these days.”

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 6: Robins v Belle Vue (Premiership) 7.30
MONDAY SEPTEMBER 10: Robins v King’s Lynn (Knockout Cup Semi-Final 1st Leg) 7.30
