PETE MUNDAY 1939-2018

Thursday October 18, 2018
SWINDON Speedway are saddened to hear of the passing of 1967 title winner Pete Munday.

Pete, who was 79, started his career at his local club Poole in 1965 but moved to join the Robins the following year and spent six seasons with the club.

Co-promoter Alun Rossiter said: “It’s very sad to hear that Pete has passed away, he was a truly lovely bloke.

“He was always very good to me when I was the mascot, and I particularly remember how he seemed to score a maximum every time it was wet, he was brilliant in those conditions.

“He’s been around the stadium and the club recently as well, including at the Bob Kilby book launch, and we’re all so sorry to hear the news.”

All at the Abbey Stadium send condolences and best wishes to Pete’s family and friends.
