ROBINS SWOOP TO PLUG GAP

Wednesday July 10, 2019
SWINDON have wasted no time in plugging the gap in their side by swooping for Danish racer Claus Vissing.

Experienced Vissing has raced for a catalogue of clubs during his 12-year British career and moves to Wiltshire as cover for the experienced Stefan Nielsen.

Nielsen needs at least another two weeks out as he is struggling for movement in the knee he injured when riding for Swindon at King's Lynn 10-days ago.

He makes his debut for the CFS Filtration Robins at home to King’s Lynn on Thursday night.

Boss Alun Rossiter said: “We are delighted to welcome Claus to Swindon and it means we are back up to a full strength side.

“I just felt we were leaving ourselves a little but weak in the lower order and we needed to do something about this.

“Stefan isn’t right and won’t be for a couple of weeks but our thoughts remain with him and this means there will be no pressure on him to rush to get back.

“Claus is a good, solid rider and he was pleased when we asked him to ride for us. We thank everyone who has enabled us to make this move.

“Now we can focus on Thursday against a tough King’s Lynn side and we need the points to keep our play-off push on track. I’m looking forward to it.”

SWINDON TEAM (v King’s Lynn, Abbey Stadium, Thursday 7.30):

Jason Doyle, David Bellego, Rasmus Jensen, Adam Ellis, Troy Batchelor, Ellis Perks, Claus Vissing.
