SWINDON will welcome back Polish star Tobiasz Musielak for this Thursday’s Premiership clash with Wolverhampton at the Abbey.

Musielak has endured an injury-hit season so far and has made just one aborted appearance for the CFS Filtration Robins since early May, as he has suffered from shoulder and then knee problems.

Having informed the club that he has returned to full fitness, he is set to resume his place in the team subject to BSPA approval.

But manager and co-promoter Alun Rossiter admits the decision was far from straightforward as Musielak’s replacement David Bellego has done a solid job over the past month.

Bellego is now available to other clubs and all at the Robins wish him well for the remainder of the season.

Rossiter said: “It was a really tough decision because David has done nothing wrong, and he gets on well with the rest of the team.

“I was always concerned over Tobi’s injury because having done that sort of thing myself I know how difficult it is to recover from.

“He’s assured us that he’s fit and he’s sent over videos of him back on a bike - and to be honest I’ve had a couple of sleepless nights thinking over what to do, because if we get it wrong then it’s a big mistake.

“In the end I’ve chosen to go back to the rider who was part of the original team, but this really is the part of the job that I don’t like.

“You have good days, but telling David wasn’t a nice thing to do and I can fully understand he’s very disappointed. He’s well liked at the club and I hope he can get fixed up elsewhere.”

Musielak’s return on Thursday comes in a big meeting as Wolves, who have recently strengthened with the signing of Ryan Douglas, moved back into the play-off race with their win at Peterborough last week.
