RACEDAY UPDATE

Thursday July 18, 2019
SWINDON aim to push on for a play-off place when they face Wolverhampton at the Abbey Stadium tonight (7.30).

But just as they welcome back popular Pole Tobiasz Musielak, they have lost Adam Ellis who has suffered a broken collarbone in a meeting at Birmingham last night.

Stand-in CFS Filtration Robins boss Lee Kilby can call upon Troy Batchelor, Rasmus Jensen, Musielak and the reserves to cover Ellis’ four programmed rides.

In addition to the Premiership clash, Reading will face Birmingham in a Development League meeting after the main event which means a bumper 21 heats for fans to enjoy.

For Kilby it will be an emotional night as he gets to take charge of the club his father Bob raced for.

He said: “It’s a major honour for me to have this opportunity to cover for Alun Rossiter who is on his way to Russia with the national side for the Speedway of Nations.

“Most people are aware of the family connection with my father, we lost him 10-years ago but every day he has an influence on my life.

“Obviously the loss of Adam is a blow and I would urge everyone to come along and get behind the boys. There’s added racing with Reading and Birmingham at no extra charge too.â€Â
