SWINDON look to continue their play-off push in Manchester tonight against a powerful Belle Vue side (7.30).

But they will be without recent signing Claus Vissing who is serving a 10-day suspension after an incident at Eastbourne last weekend and boss Alun Rossiter has booked former Aces man Ricky Wells as cover.

The race for the top four is getting tense with a number of teams in contention.

CFS Filtration Robins kept their hopes alive with a last gasp win over Wolves at the Abbey last Thursday and Rossiter knows away wins could clinch it.

“We’ll go there in a positive frame of mind,” he said.

“We know away wins could be the deciding factor when it comes to making the top four and if we can achieve that it would be a major achievement.

“We know what to expect going to Belle Vue. It’s a great race track and we have riders who enjoy going there. I’m looking forward to it and it should be a good meeting.”

Wells lost his place in the Aces side recently and was snapped up by Poole but readily agreed to stand in at reserve.

Big hitters Jason Doyle and Troy Batchelor have good records from previous visits to the National Speedway Stadium and will need to be at their best to face Belle Vue’s top men Max Fricke and Kenneth Bjerre.
