ROBINS BACK AT HOME IN PLAY-OFF PUSH

Wednesday August 21, 2019
PLAY-OFF chasing Swindon return home for three huge meetings in a week – starting on Thursday (August 22).

They face reigning champions Poole at the Abbey before taking on Ipswich on Monday and Peterborough the following Thursday.

And after claiming six-points from three home meetings CFS Filtration Robins boss Alun Rossiter is aiming for all nine available on home shale.

There’s also a bonus for fans on Thursday and Monday with six races of Development League action as second half racing.

Said Rossiter: “We said before Monday at Poole that the two meetings against them this week would be big and so it’s proved to be.

“We got a point down there on Monday and now we look to complete the job against them by winning the home meeting.

“It would be massive for us if we could win all three of these home meetings. It’s the school summer holidays and we want to see the fans turn out to come and see the action.

“We rode well down at Poole but they have riders who go well at the Abbey too so we cannot take anything for granted here. We have to be on our toes and riding well from the start.

“I’m very hopeful of the play-offs but I just feel three straight home wins now would put us where we need to be. We also want to finish top of the table.”

Claus Vissing returns at reserve after serving his 10-day suspension in the only change to the Swindon side which missed out by two at Wimborne Road on Monday.

This Monday’s meeting will be the 70th anniversary of Swindon Speedway and there will be lots of extra attractions for fans to enjoy. Tapes will go up at 7.30.
