PETERBOROUGH v ROBINS, PREVIEW

Sunday September 08, 2019
SWINDON will look to extend their lead at the top of the Premiership standings when they take on Peterborough at the East of England Arena on Monday (7.30).

After securing their play-off place at Ipswich on Thursday, the CFS Filtration Robins will look to better their previous visit to Cambridgeshire where they conceded a 10-point lead, eventually losing 50-40.

They come up against a Panthers side that have lost 11 straight meetings and they will be looking to break that run with a home win.

Peterborough are forced into one change at reserve with Ryan Douglas coming in as a guest for Jason Garrity who is serving a 7-day suspension.

The visitors are at full strength led by skipper Jason Doyle fresh from his battling display at the Grand Prix in Denmark on Saturday.

Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: “We were ten points up there last time and we lost by ten so we have got to make sure we don’t make those same mistakes.

“I think we have learnt a few things from the last time that we went there so, hopefully we keep an eye on that. It’s is going to be tough but we are more than capable of winning.

“Obviously, our away form is a lot better this year and it bodes well for us in the play-offs because if we can keep it close and get a good score at home we have just got to make sure we get enough away then. With our last two performances at home we shouldn’t have any problems there either!

“I’m not putting any stress on the team. Right now, the last thing we need to do is do something stupid. We need to stay fit and make sure everyone is good for when the play-offs come around.”

PETERBOROUGH: Charles Wright, Ty Proctor, Hans Andersen, Scott Nicholls, Rohan Tungate, Ulrich Ostergaard, Ryan Douglas.
SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Adam Ellis, Rasmus Jensen, Tobias Musielak, Troy Batchelor, Ellis Perks, Claus Vissing.
