HOT prospect Jordan Stewart has joined Premiership champions Swindon.

Aussie ace Stewart, who has experience of British racing with Championship Redcar, becomes the penultimate rider to be revealed for the 2020 season.

And he admits it’s a ‘huge’ move for his career as he prepares to link up with fellow countrymen Jason Doyle and Troy Batchelor at the Abbey.

“Signing for Swindon is huge for my career,” he said. “This will be my third straight season in England and I feel as though I’ve been ready for this opportunity for a while.

“I’ve held talks with a couple of clubs last season but nothing came of it for one reason or another.

“My form with Redcar was decent last season and I started the season in Poland until my team went bankrupt which wasn’t ideal!

“Being on the bike as often as I can is what I need to improve so hopefully doubling up with Swindon will only help bring me on more.”

He admits having Doyle and Batchelor as team mates will be a big help.

“Having riders like Jason (Doyle) and Troy (Batchelor) in the same side will be awesome next season,” he said. “I can learn so much off these guys in what they do and how they prepare bikes and manage their time around meetings.

“This is the level I want to be at so I’m really looking forward to getting going at Swindon.”

Stewart readily admits there will be a target on their back as reigning champions.

He said: “Winning the league last season will mean everyone will be after us next season but that added pressure will only spur me on to score points.

“I’ve heard a lot about Rosco (Alun Rossiter) and I can’t wait to start working with him."

SWINDON 2020 SO FAR: Jason Doyle, Troy Batchelor, Rasmus Jensen, Ellis Perks, Anders Rowe, Jordan Stewart.
