HISTORY-MAKER Ellis Perks feels his Premiership spot with Swindon can aid his progress significantly.

The 23-year-old was snapped up by the CFS Filtration Robins part way through last season and produced some eye-catching performances along the way to helping the club regain the top-flight trophy.

In fact Perks was a league winner at all three levels of British Speedway and feels that Premiership racing is key to the speed of his development.

"I need to be racing in the Premiership, it brings me on" Perks said.

"Swindon were kind enough to grant me the opportunity in the top flight and I loved the experience.

"It was an easy decision to return - we agreed a deal pretty early.

"Hopefully we'll get some good news soon and I'll be ready to go whenever they give us the green light."

Supporters can read more from Perks and find out what he's been up to as a key worker in Issue 4 of the club's season delay programme.

Club chiefs Alun Rossiter, Lee Kilby and Steve Park discuss various ongoings behind the scenes while current Great Britain Speedway Team co-boss Simon Stead has taken time out to pen an exclusive column reflecting on the unforgettable league success of 2012.
