BATCH - I'VE MISSED SWINDON

Thursday October 29, 2020
SWINDON racer Troy Batchelor has revealed how he has missed everyone at the club in this awful year.

Batchelor, one of the club’s double winning heroes last season, has spent weeks in Poland aiming for regular league racing – but it didn’t work out.

He says the atmosphere at the Abbey is special and the spirit within the club is second to none – something he’s badly missed throughout 2020.

“At Swindon we have a lot of fun and a few laughs along the way so I’ve definitely missed that,” he said.

“I miss Big Al (Alun Rossiter) and all the gang for sure, there’s so many good people at the club.

“I also miss racing on the track, after the track changes there it’s my favourite track in England now. I love it. They did a great job reshaping it.

“I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an improved 2021 filled with racing all over the country and a bit more normality if at all possible.

“Things didn’t work out well for me in Poland this year, it was tough for me being away from my pregnant partner who had to stay back here to be at midwife appointments and check-ups, things like that.”

Club officials, and those of other clubs, will be anxiously keeping their eyes on the situation with football and when crowds can return to venues. Rugby League are preparing for a March start for their 2021 season – the month speedway normally starts.
